When Will I See Results?
You’ll start to see visible improvements as soon as your skin has healed—usually within one to two weeks after your Erbium laser treatment. Early results often include a brighter look, smoother texture, and more even tone.
Over the next several weeks, your skin will continue to renew itself and gradually produce new collagen, which helps soften lines and improve firmness.
Most people notice their best results around two to three months after treatment, with ongoing improvements for up to six months as collagen continues to rebuild.
How Long Do Erbium Results Last?
The improvements you see after Erbium laser skin resurfacing can last for years. Because the treatment removes damaged skin cells and stimulates new collagen, many of the changes — like smoother texture and more even tone — are long-lasting.
However, your skin will continue to age naturally over time. Sun exposure, lifestyle habits, and your daily skincare routine all play a role in how long your results will stay visible.
To help maintain your refreshed look, it’s important to protect your skin with sunscreen, avoid excessive sun exposure, and follow a consistent skincare regimen recommended by your provider.
How Many Erbium Treatments Will I Need?
The number of Erbium laser treatments you’ll need depends on your skin goals and the depth of resurfacing. Many people see noticeable improvement after just one session, especially for mild to moderate concerns like uneven texture or fine lines.
For deeper wrinkles, acne scars, or more advanced sun damage, your provider may recommend a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve the best results.
During your consultation, we’ll create a personalized plan based on your skin’s needs and how it responds to each treatment.
Is Erbium Skin Resurfacing Safe?
Erbium laser skin resurfacing is an FDA-cleared laser technology that has been used safely for many years to improve skin texture, tone, and visible signs of aging. When performed by trained professionals, Erbium resurfacing has a well-established safety record and predictable results.
As with any laser procedure, there are risks such as temporary redness, swelling, or changes in skin pigmentation. These risks are minimized when your treatment is customized for your skin type and performed in a professional medical setting.
At Natural Body Spa + Med Spa in Atlanta, Erbium laser skin resurfacing is exclusively performed by licensed professional laser technicians (who are also licensed medical aestheticians) on our medical spa team.
For your health, med spa staff clearance is required prior to receiving skin resurfacing treatment.
Is Erbium Resurfacing Right For Me?
Erbium laser skin resurfacing can be a great option if you want to improve fine lines, uneven skin tone, acne scars, or sun damage with less downtime than deeper laser treatments. It’s often recommended for people with lighter to medium skin tones, but your provider will carefully evaluate your skin type, health history, and goals to make sure it’s a safe choice.
If you are pregnant, have certain medical conditions, or have used isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past year, Erbium resurfacing may not be appropriate. The best way to find out if Erbium laser is right for you is to schedule a complimentary consultation with our med spa team. We’ll review your concerns, answer your questions, and design a personalized treatment plan.

What Body Areas Can You Treat With Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Erbium laser resurfacing is most often used on the face but can also treat the neck, chest, and hands to improve sun damage, discoloration, and texture.
Who Should Not Get Erbium Laser Resurfacing?
For your safety, Erbium laser resurfacing should not be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is also contraindicated for individuals with a history of vitiligo, scleroderma, collagen disorders, psoriasis, or keloid formation.
If you have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 12 months, you should not have Erbium treatments. The procedure is also not recommended for those with a tendency toward excessive scarring.
In addition, you should avoid Erbium laser resurfacing if you have taken tetracycline, minocycline, doxycycline, or erythromycin within the past month, as these medications can increase sensitivity to light and raise the risk of complications.
