How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of microneedling sessions you’ll need depends on your skin’s current condition and your personal goals.
Most clients see the best results from a series of three treatments, spaced about four weeks apart to allow for proper healing and collagen production between sessions.
Your Natural Body licensed aesthetician will recommend a customized treatment plan during your consultation, based on the concerns you’d like to address such, as acne scarring, fine lines, or skin texture.
When Will I See Results?
You may notice a healthy glow and smoother skin within the first week after your microneedling treatment as your skin begins its natural healing process. Results are gradual and build over time, with visible improvements in tone, texture, and firmness continuing over the next several weeks.
For best results, most clients schedule a series of three treatments spaced about four weeks apart. Collagen production can continue for up to six months after your final session, making microneedling a long-lasting investment in your skin’s health.
Your licensed aesthetician will also recommend clinical-grade skin care to support healing at home and help extend your results.
What Does Microneedling Feel Like? Does It Hurt?
Before your microneedling treatment begins, your aesthetician will apply a topical numbing cream to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the session.
Most clients describe the sensation of microneedling as feeling like a light scratch or the texture of a cat’s tongue — slightly rough, but tolerable.
Because the SkinPen device moves quickly and precisely, any discomfort is minimal and short-lived. Treatments targeting deeper scars or tougher areas may cause more sensitivity. Your aesthetician will guide you through each step.
After the procedure, your skin may feel warm and tight, similar to a mild sunburn. This sensation typically fades within 24 hours.
What Will I Look Like After Microneedling?
Immediately after your microneedling session, your skin may appear red and feel warm — similar to a mild sunburn. Most clients take the rest of the day to relax and feel ready to return to regular activities the following day.
For deeper treatments or more sensitive skin, redness may last a few days, and you may experience mild swelling or pinpoint flaking as your skin begins to heal. These side effects are temporary and part of the natural renewal process.
If you have a special event coming up, we recommend scheduling your treatment at least 7 days in advance to allow time for your skin to fully recover and glow.
Is Microneedling Safe For All Skin Types?
Yes. Microneedling is safe and effective for all skin tones and types, including deeper skin tones that may be more sensitive to heat-based treatments. Because it doesn’t rely on laser or light energy, microneedling carries minimal risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation when performed by a licensed professional.
Your Natural Body Spa + Med Spa aesthetician will evaluate your skin during your consultation and customize your treatment for the safest, most effective results.
What's the Difference Between Microneedling & RF Microneedling?
Both microneedling and RF microneedling use tiny needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural healing response and stimulating collagen production.
The key difference is that RF microneedling also delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy deep into the skin during treatment. This added heat energy helps to tighten and firm the skin from within, making RF microneedling especially effective for treating skin laxity, deeper wrinkles, and more advanced signs of aging.
Traditional microneedling with SkinPen is a great option for improving texture, tone, fine lines, acne scars, and enlarged pores—with less intensity and minimal downtime. Your Natural Body aesthetician can help you decide which treatment best fits your skin’s needs and goals.
