Every Day is Earth Day at Natural Body Spa and Shoppe 2006 Anniversary of Earth Share Partnership
Atlanta, Georgia – April 1, 2006 – Natural Body Spa and Shoppe continues its pledge to be green in 2006 and celebrates a successful one year anniversary partnership with Earth Share. Natural Body‘s involvement with the environmental non–profit is multi–faceted, including employee and corporate donations as part of the spa‘s "Live Green Give Green" campaign, sponsorship of the 2006 Leadership Breakfast on April 21st, participation in the April 22nd Party in the Park, hands–on work for Green Day on April 29th, plus ongoing recycling and green programs year round.
Natural Body Donates to Earth Share
In 2006, Natural Body Spa will continue its relationship with Earth Share via employee contributions and a partial company match. Employee participation is close to 30%. Celia Tully, partner and managing director of marketing states, "We are proud of our employees and their personal interest in embracing environmental causes that are the root of Natural Body‘s philosophy."
Natural Body Hands–On Volunteer Work
A team of Natural Body volunteers will roll up their sleeves, don work gloves, pick up shovels and join hundreds of volunteers for Earth Share‘s fourth annual Green Day, on Saturday, April 29th, a hands–on community project to clean up the environment. Natural Body will donate the "Every Day is Earth Day" t–shirts for all volunteers. Last year, the Natural Body team planted and mulched 150 trees in Perkerson Park and surrounding neighborhoods.
Natural Body Participates in Cell Phone Program
The Atlanta spas are now official drop off sites for old cell phones. To date, Natural Body has collected more than 200 phones and delivered them to Earth Share. The organization recycles the phones preventing toxic substances from entering the waste stream.
Natural Body‘s Deeply–Rooted Commitment
Commitment to the environment is not new to Natural Body, but rather its foundation and mission. In 1989, Cici Coffee founded Natural Body on the principal of providing natural and nurturing services and products to her clients, while helping the environment. Sixteen years and more than fifteen spas later, Natural Body is setting the green spa standards for the industry. Natural Body utilizes recycled products, including its newsletter and spa menus printed on recycled paper with soy ink. As much as possible, the spas incorporate recycled, post–consumer building materials in their construction. Much of Natural Body‘s flooring is made from school bus tires and other recycled materials.
As part of the spa‘s 2004 "Pledge To Be Green" campaign, Natural Body customers pledged more than 4,113 new "green" habits, including recycling, thermostat regulation, and non–toxic lawn care. Portions of this program, plus profits from Natural Body‘s "Every Day Is Earth Day" 100% organic cotton t–shirts benefited Georgia Organics. "We are passionate about sustainability and caring for the environment. We want to become a resource to educate people, clients and employees, about good environmental practices. Our efforts with Earth Share are an ideal extension of our core company beliefs," notes Tully.
